Hello and Welcome!

Brisbane Shotokan Karate-do is a Dojo of Shotokan Karate International Australia (SKIA). We practice traditional Japanese Karate (restricted contact), as passed down from Kanazawa Soke (10th Dan), founder of the Shotokan Karate International Federation. We are also affiliated with Karate Australia, the Australiasian Federation of Traditional Karate and Kobudo (AFTK), and routinely participate in National and International Karate seminars and competitions.

We train at the Salisbury State School hall on Tuesdays and at the YMCA Acacia Ridge Community Centre on Fridays and Saturdays. All adults and children (6+) are welcome. Sensei Tarun Rajan is the Resident Instructor of Brisbane Shotokan Karate.

If you are new to Karate and/ or martial arts, we hope that it may spark an interest in you to come and try Shotokan Karate and take that first step.
